TCOP Extended Study Visit to Georgia

On May 28 – 30, 2025, PEMPAL Treasury Community of Practice is organizing an Extended Study Visit to Tbilisi, Georgia.
The main objective of the Visit is to discuss the progress in modernization of treasury operations in Georgia and the applicability of the Georgian experience for other countries.
The Ministry of Finance of Georgia (the host institution) will provide a major contribution to the contents of this event. During the Visit, Treasury Service will present an overview of its activities, key achievements, challenges and reform plans and share its experience in moving to more active cash management practices and extending treasury single account (TSA) coverage. The presentations will also cover the Georgian experience in digital transformation of the PFM functions, including the introduction of the unified tax code facilitating tax administration process and the ongoing pilot projects that use cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), in the treasury operations. In addition, the Georgian experience in implementing public sector accounting reforms based on the adoption of the IPSAS standards and the results of the recent PULSE assessment, as well as the experience in integrating cross-cutting issues into PFM (such as Climate change, Gender, SDGs etc.) will be shared.
Other TCOP members will contribute to country news sessions and group discussions. It is planned to invite the treasury practitioners from Indonesia and a representative of the International Monetary Fund to contribute to the discussions.
